The Artist
Sorin Bica was born in Bucharest Romania in 1965. As self-taught artist, he began his career drawing political cartoons back in his mother land. In 1988 Bica moved to the US where he was able to fully develop his artistic passion.
Sorin Bica paints abstract people in high contrast, vibrant colors and texture. "I'm fascinated by people and the complexity of life, by the happiness and sorrow that we experience, about the love and hate we are capable of in a relationship to other human beings" says Bica. He is still trying to develop a balance in his paintings between these love-hate relationships. His work has been described as emotional, passionate, intense and colorful.
Bica's studio is located in Framingham MA where he has been an active artist at the Fountain Street community.
He has been exhibiting in Massachusetts since 2007.
Sorin Bica can be commissioned for art work.
Represented by LagunaART Group.

Artist Statement
I paint because I have to.
I am fascinated by people and the complexity of life, by beauty and ugliness in equal measure.
I am amazed by the multitude of reactions we generate, the relationships we form, about the happiness and sorrow that we experience, about the love and hate that we are capable of.
In search of balance, I peal-off the surface and cover the core with lots of color and light…hence, my work.
